Interiors Roundup – Upcycling with Crates!

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another Interiors Roundup post! We hope you’re all having a fab week so far & are ready for a fun weekend ahead!

If you follow Rachael on Instagram, you might have seen that she’s been been doing some fun upcycling recently as part of her home renovation project.  In addition to painting some frames for her own doodles, Rachael has also been re-vamping some wooden crates leftover from her wedding & using up some extra colourful paint in the process!

Since Rachael has been doing some fun crate upcycling, we thought it would be fun to share some more inspiration around this super affordable, fun & useful storage idea! There are absolutely tons of ways that you can use crates in your home & they are one of the easiest items to paint & decoupage! Not to mention they also look great plain & can be a simple, stylish addition to your space!

Another great thing about crates is that they are stackable, able to be mounted to walls, can be used as baskets & can be paired with almost any modern interior decor style. Once customised, many design lovers on Pinterest are using them for displaying things like shoes, books, ornaments & even as floral baskets for the garden.

Here’s a closer look at Rachael’s colourful creations (the first two below) followed by some of our favourite examples from our Pinterest likes. Be sure to check out “Crate DIY” too for lots more ideas!
