Beautiful Botanics

Happy Tuesday Everybody!

Over these last few months, it certainly has been hectic at the Rachael Taylor studio. While we’ve had lots to say around our studio move, we want to make sure we still provide you with some quality creative inspiration. One of the ways we have been doing this is by keeping in touch with a number of wonderful artists, some of which we’ve featured on the blog before, such as Laura Mysak.

Laura has been in touch again recently to update us around her gorgeous watercolour botanical designs, which we absolutely love. While Laura’s unique style is reminiscent of classic designs & textiles, it definitely maintains a modern & stylish feel that sets her work apart. To get a little more insight into her creative process, we asked Laura to comment about her own views on her work & where she finds inspiration:

“I love using handpainting to convey a real honesty about my work. I was trained in textiles and have since moved into the field of design for licensing as I feel it gives me a greater scope… I do believe art and design is a constantly changing phenomenon and it’s really important not to remain stagnant, but to keep working on new ideas and it’s always helpful to get feedback and re-look at how you’re doing things.”

A quick look at Laura’s illustrations certainly convey her passion for artistry & keeping things fresh and contemporary. We absolutely love her work & her ability to so beautifully capture florals – we think she is a great source of artistic inspiration.
